Nope. Just going over all the things I've done to try and diagnose the problem. Why?LOUD MOUSE wrote:Are you at the bike?. .........lm
5500mi on a rebuilt cb77 - Time for some freshening up?
Heeeyyy. So I replaced the battery, which made a huge difference in terms of the electric starter and some general low idling (low idles better than before). But it still idles high when timed at 'F', and will idle even with the idle speed screws all the way out!
In a recent Bill Silver article he mentions on a 1969 CB350 "The spark advancer unit return springs were somewhat slack, which can cause inadvertent spark timing advance at idle. That condition will cause the engine speed to rise up unnecessarily which cannot be controlled with the idle speed screws in extreme cases." Sounds like my issue! And was my suspicion all along. Because this would require removal of the engine (ugh), can anyone chime in and give me an idea of something ELSE it might be? Sorry Loudmouse, I've been too busy to garage teleconference with you. I know my bike well though and can communicate information about it without looking at it!
