Cosmetic questions.

Post by versuspop » Tue Apr 22, 2014 9:37 am

I have a 66 cb77. I am curious about a potential list of all finishes for the bike.
I can't seem to find definitive info- particularly about the cases and top end.
How much of this is wrong?
1966 cb77 black
1. Paint black:
Frame
Triple tree top
Triple tree bottom
Headlight
Headlight ears
Fork uppers
Ignition coil lowers
Center stand
Side stand
Swing arm
Tool box
Tank
Tank attachment bracket
Rear shock uppers
Center stand grip handle

2. Paint "silver/aluminum":
Right side crank case cover
Left side crank case cover
Side covers
Front fender
Fender brackets
Rear fender
Taillight bracket
Starter
Starter covers
Chain guard

3.bare aluminum (media blast)
Cases
Oil pump
Cam chain adjuster
Cylinders
Cylinder head
Valve cover
Tachometer side cover

4. Polish:
Tappet covers
Alt cover
Points cover
Oil slinger cover
Hubs
Fork lowers
Controls
Lever brackets
Levers

5. Chrome:
Cases top cover
Wheels (DID)
Headlight bezel
Speedo bezel
Tank side covers

6. Cadmium plate (? Non show chrome plate)
Ignition coil brackets
Spokes

Let me know.

Thanks, Ian

Thanks Ed.

So based on this- the top end and the cases are not painted, but bare aluminium?

AND--Based on your other posts, round bead is acceptable media to get them to proper state?

And: silver paint for the horn; white cadmium for the horn bracket, tach cable holder, rear brake stay, and footpeg mounts; media blast for the aluminum footpeg mounting castings(?). Chase
