CL72 Cyl Head Cover

Post by malcolmgb » Fri Jan 31, 2014 6:29 pm

The cylinder head top cover on my 1964 CL72 is solid without a rubber mounting, should it have one or is that CL77 only? Is it a good upgrade if I can find one or just unnecessary.

Thanks LOUD MOUSE I have since been told there are 3 types, 1 - M8 bolt ; 1 - M10 bolt ; 1 - Rubber mounted, maybe the 77 vibrated (resonated) more.

In late 1964 around #4001597 Honda changed to rubber mount on all cl72's. Yes it does help. If your bracket has 10mm hole then yours likley came with solid mount or if it's 8mm then it was rubber mounted.
