Well just learned how to post pic's so here are two of myself with my CB77 in the Isle of Man TT week during a hoilday (vacation) in 1966.
One is at the refueling stage on the start and finish line, the OTHER pic is of the bike at the Honda owners club rally at Laxey my CB77 won first prize I had 35.000 miles on the clock that helped me to win I think.
She was a lovely bike that CB77 and now im 70 this year and I now have a new friend in the garage a 1964 black CB77 she stands next to my 1964 Triumph 5TA I have owned for 40 years.

How did I come about having a Honda CB77 well it all started with buying a CB72 after being blown off on my Norton by my mates on these new Jap crap bikes as we brit fans called them back in the early 60's.
So I bit the bullet a purchased a CB72 brand new no sissy running in for me off I went reving the bloody socks off the rice burner. Well I had had this CB72 for 4 weeks and it was on the evening of November 5th 1965 (I think) a dark night on one of our runs with me mates and a Yamaha YDS2 came flying past us on a duel carrige way so wind it on me off I went after him next thing I know I was apoaching a roundabout leaned the bike over on the left the footrest hit the tarmac and me mates said they could see my headlight and tail light in the distance going up in the air, the best part of it they tell me he turned off I was chasing a shadow ho well the only wat to lean is come off the bike one soon learns. Well to cut a long story short the bike was a complete right off in them days the front end on Jap bikes were a lot of money and most of the other bits as well, we roughly worked it out if one built a honda from spare parts it would be 3x more than a new one. So I purchased a cheep bike a James 150 man ever tried to keep up with a CB72 OR CB160 on one of them no way. With my insurance pay out I purchased a second hand CB77 the one in the picture from Sherwood garage Birmingham UK we were very friendly with the owner Pete Rose what a nice guy, I told him that the handling was not what I was used to so he said he would put the steering damper on off the then race kit also he got in touch with Girling comp shop and they made up a pair of rear dampers (shocks) and he fitted Avon tyres the Jap tyres in them times were made of wood I think. Did it improve the handling yes and no it was much better on slow bends swinging but on a long fast bend the bike would feel like it was hinged in the middle sorry guys I love the CB72/77 but compared to a brit bike in the early 60's say a Norton/BSA even the Ariel Arrow had better handling (that was another bike I owned) the Honda was crap in my opinion but I learned to adapt to it. Note the breathing mod in the pic above I took two pipes off the inlet rocker cover caps and they were routed down onto the rear chain I wonder if it helped ? So here are two more from the TT week above one is of me at Sulby Bridge after following a fast guy on a bike he came off on the bend we went to help him and me mate said to the guy now this is the way to take the bend and he said to me go back and come into the bend as fast as you can I did and he took this picture. The other pic is of one of me mates John (he had a fetish for plastic riding gear I think) and his CB160 the bike to the left is me mates CB72. SORRY ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE PICS I HAD TO PHOTO THEM.
