Oh yea, 68 305 Dream , 9000 or so miles on eng ,running good with new elec ign and wires , but do hear a little noise from the cam chain area . I have no idea if any maint. was ever done on this bike. Thanks again.
The cam adjuster is a spring loaded shaft that pushes on a wheel that rides against the cam chain. If you loosen the locking bolt the spring should push the shaft and adjust the cam chain.
However it is not unusual for the shaft to be stuck in its hosing so you get no adjustment. It is a fairly easy task (4 bolts) to remove the whole thing and check it. You can check the shaft movement and the condition of the spring and wheel. cam chain adithanks , heading out to do it now .
