Receiver Oil Necessary

Post by Waveblaster » Fri Dec 27, 2013 11:25 am

Hello,

I am currently putting back together a 305 engine for a 1964 model C77. I seem to not have or have misplaced a part called "receiver oil" which sits around the pump strainer. I read that some engines dont seem to have fitted as " from serial number: C77E-A10001
upto serial number: CA77E-110350 "

my engine number C77E-1006376 so I assume it is in the mix.

Is this item necessary? I cant seem to locate another easily on the net.

Greg

Those numbers relate to models made from 1960 to 1961. Your engine is later as it has 7 digits and is, as you point out, a 1964 model.

You should be fine without it.
