Help with an oil leak - Rebuilt CB77On CB77's with standard rims (WM1 front, WM2 rear), I have installed Avon AM26 Roadrunners, 90/90 on the front, and 100/90 on the rear. A bit narrower rim than Avon recommends, but they did not appear to be excessively crowned. Had to deflate the front tire to get it past the 8mm bolts and fork bosses that hold the center brace of the front fender. On the rear, you may have to slightly spread the sides of the rear fender towards the front for clearance (had to do this on one bike, but not another). Tires looked good, but modern. Hope this helps, Chase
Many thanks cknight That is just what I was after I will go along with what you have on your bike I had Avon AM26 on my Triumph T140 and they were just great (no longer have the T140 sold it and purchased a 1964 CB77) regarding looks I think they look just great, lets face it one needs modern tyres to ride on todays roads here in the UK.
How do you find the Avons ride on the road ? Thanks again for your reply. The ones I've mounted have been on friend's bikes. Just a ride around the neighborhood to make sure everything functions. They've been happy with them. I'm in the final stages of upgrading my 1962 CB77 cafe' piece (purists relax, it's built from leftovers from other projects, just happens to be a '62 frame), including WM2 and WM3 alloy rims with the Avons. I've been "one day to completion" for about two months now...... Regards, Chase
