Fantastic outcome with the Amals, Vince, congratulations. I suspect that this will truly help alot of us out there that have badly worn OEM carbs.

It's worth noting that the carbs you have used are Mk1 Concentrics, 600 series, in 26mm.

Your Mikunis would probably work well individually on a C77 (single carb head). Having said that, a new 26mm/28mm Amal would probably also work well.

Mikuni Carbs are Now Amals!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. As I had mentioned in an earlier posting, we came to the conclusion that the Mikunis would only work if they weren't bolted to the engine. However, in order to place them further away from the engine you would have to use a different type of gas tank to allow for the clearance, as well as a different petcock. If someone were to use their bike for racing they would work great, but I didn't want to go TOO crazy with mods (though I know I've probably gone too far already for some folks!) in that direction. So these Amals seem to be a great compromise. As an aside, it was suggested by my mechanic that air filters still be used with these Amals (I'm using the OEM filters), otherwise the slides will deteriorate quicker, as I'm sure they would with any carb.
