CL77 correct year/parts?CL77 correct year/parts?Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me if this bike looks complete and correct? It's sold as a 1965 CL77, but I'm thinking it's a 1966 (big brakes)? Parts that are missing or incorrect? It's the only picture I've got at this moment. Thanks!
Re: CL77 correct year/parts?Tis a 66 and missing a center stand (which was RED) and has something strang in the pipes.
More picks and I'll do more. ...........................lm
Thanks.
I took some pictures today. According to the seller, this bike was delivered without a center stand but that's not true as far as I know. Also, the bolt for the tank/frame connection seems to be missing. It has 1 key (delivered with 2?). The bike has compression and to get it running should not be hard. The last time it was used was in 1984. And what about the bend/kink on the frame at the Honda sticker? Seller says it's normal because of the weld. I live in Belgium and these bikes are very rare in Europe. The seller had the bike imported from the US about a month ago so extra taxes and fees are already paid. The selling price is still high though... $4750 It's my absolute dreambike and I would love to have one in the future, but I'm just not sure this is "the right one". What would this bike sell for in the US (max.)? Any info / tips welcome!! Thanks in advance.

I checked 10 CL frames and none have a bend/bulge at that area. ......................lm
The gusset is dented and without looking real hard at whether the frame was bent when the dent occurred I wouldn't touch it. If, however, you can determine that the frame is straight and the gusset alone was dented it looks like it would be an easy straightening job. Mine is perfectly straight and Ed has told you he checked ten frames and didn't see the bend. That should tell you the owner's explanation was incorrect. It looks to me like Honda did a pretty good job of welding in that area and I cannot believe they would let a crooked gusset get past their QC people.
Show a pic of the frame at the area of the rear tank mount with the tank removed. ..........lm
