I just picked up a non-running 64 CB77. It was a eBay bike that I saw only in pictures. It was near a relatives house. He brought it to me during a recent visit. As I looked it over I realized that a previous owner had pulled off the clutch side cover to do something and replaced the cover without most of the parts. Most of the shift linkage is missing as is most of the clutch ( only the plates are there not the keeper , pressure plate, and chain.
Where do I go from here? The individual parts needed add up to some significant money. The motor & trans need total rebuild as does the rest of the bike. Do I get a donor engine and make one? For those that have been there what's the cheapest route?
Rebuild parts neededshift mechanismI have some parts off a 305 dream ca77. if it is the same, I also know a friend that has the entire engine and is willing to part it out to me. I have the peice that goes through the case and actually moves the fork barrel if you need it. But I don't think that will help you much, if the clutch and all else is missing. It would be (in that case) a lot better to find someone that has it all. I don't know if you have a 305 or not, not knowing what a cb77 is. (So please forgive my ignorance if it is not the right engine.)
Clutch partsI have a lot of clutch and shift parts for cb77s. Make a list of what you need, and I'll let you know what I have. you can e-mail me direct davomoto183@comcast.net
