re-install of exhaust pipes -

Post by kennebecgtr » Sun Jun 16, 2013 12:30 pm

Hi! I have a '67 305 scrambler that I am resurrecting. Am putting in new exhaust rings that fit between the head and exhaust pipe flange. On one side the rings are flat and the other side they are rounded. Which side of the ring faces the motor?

2nd question : While waiting to find oem air filters and tubes; is there a good substitute to fit on the carbs for a temporary running of the bike while breaking in new motor. aka K&N filters or ???

Thanks for any info. provided. Bill in Mpls.

I was looking at the air filters on my project and wondered if it was possible to remove filter elements and wrap filter foam around the original bodies.
