In the parts manual, the two Oil Separators in the lower case are each held in place by two bolts and there are lock washers under each. But mine did not have these washers when I took apart my engine. So, thinking they were missing, I got some for those locations. But of course, I was not the first person inside this engine...
I'm now reassembling the motor and wondering if I should install them or leave them out. Any wisdom here about that? I've searched, but I've not found any discussion for this specific application. I know that the parts illustrations have a number of inaccuracies; is this one of them? Because of previous and welcomed advice, I'm predicting LM will suggest leaving them out, and that's my inclination, but being that it's deep inside the motor, I thought I'd poll the forum to get a consensus on this.
Thanks for any insight any one can provide!

Re: Oil Separators - Lock washers or no lock washers on boltYou are correct so leave them out.
HONDA didn't install them there as many other locations. Ever figure how much $$$ could be saved when things as a washer which were not needed were not installed. ......lm
