Wanted- CB77 Speedo Cable

Post by akpasta » Wed Mar 13, 2013 8:27 pm

I broke my speedo cable, dammit. The lip that keeps the cable seated against the nut broke and i'm afraid it's not reparable.

Does anyone know if the ebay thailand ones suffice or does anyone in the US import them?

Thanks!

Western Hills seems to have em, but which one? They list two here. I have the early-model speedo.

Terry said they're out. Western hills has it on their site but two part numbers, did the cable change for the late model? Any other recommendations?

Go to general forum & key in superhawk.
Check the "sticky" by cyclon- he put togeather a very comprehensive list of dependable suppliers who should be able to get the correct cable.

speedo cable

I THINK the later model cable was wound (twisted) the opposite way from the early model due to opposite rotation of later speedo and drive. Could be wrong.

Thank you!

As tends to be the case, I went down the rabbit hole of suppliers. First called Western Hills, they were out but directed me to Honda Fairfield in OH, who were also out but were able to tell me which part number was for my early speedo by looking at the vin numbers in their book. Then they sent me along to College Bike in Lansing, MI, haha. And they had one in stock. $25 to my door, not bad.

That list of sites is very useful I'll use it in the future for sure.
