Speedo Foam in HeadlightSpeedo Foam in HeadlightI got my speedo back from Foreign Speedo and I noticed that the ring that goes around the speedo that has the foam on it and what not isn't tight against the speedo, so when you install it it doesn't really insulate the headlight as well as it could. What do you guys recommend for that? Looks like some factory glue residue where the two meet, should I use some kinda glue? Any advice would be great.
Thanks, Andy

I noticed one more thing, it's not just a weather seal, something needs to hold the speedo unit into the metal piece that screws onto the headlight with the two screws. The speedo wants to slide up and out of the headlight.
Should I use some kind of glue here as well or do I need to fab an actual fastener into the speedo housing, like perhaps drill the screw holes through the speedo unit as well (I'm inclined to think this is a bad idea). CL77 Speedo mountThe foam glues to speedo and then there is a metal ring that glues to the outside of the foam and has two threaded mounting holes. Was it on there when you sent the speedo out for repairs?
Ya, the foam I would use a weatherstripping sealant, that's no biggie, but after installing the speedo, it is coming apart from that metal ring, so it's not holding firmly in place and I don't believe weatherstripping sealant will hold it in, so I think I may need another bonding agent to hold the metal on the speedo against the metal ring that screws to the headlight.
What kind of agent should I use? Speedo foam glueI have two of these mounts that look like the same glue is used to glue the foam to the speedo and to glue the metal ring to the outside of the foam. One is NOS. Anybody think that different glue was used on the inside vs the outside?
Thanks for posting this question Andy. Without having gone through your experience I would have blindly assumed the same glue should be used in both places. You know what happens when you assume...
