Air intake hose replacement
Air intake hose replacementDoes anyone know of a good replacement for the original air intake hose from the air filter to carb? I don't want to pay 60 - 70 bucks. I've looked on here and only found a partial solution with a somewhat vague description of a part at home depot from the post "Air Filter to Carb Tube Repair Instructions. $8.00 fix." I'm going there tonight to look for this part. The guy on the phone was of no help, granted I don't have much to go on.
Thanks brew,I might give that a try if I can't find a decent hose replacement. I'm more inclined to use the original air filter set up because I spent a day rebuilding the other one from a general one and some gasket sealant. I'll let you know if I find anything worthwhile.
I think I have a spare set of reproduction hoses. I paid $80 for them and would be happy to send them to you for $40 shipped. PM me if you want them and I will try and dig them out. You will need the spring fasteners. I only have the rubbers. I don't need them now that I have become another amal carb heretic:

cheap air hoseI found that a used radiator hose I had on my wall did the job well. Even the curves were suitable. Fits so well I don't need clamps. I believe (not positive) it was the lower hose for a 1979 Chevy with a 350.
The price was right!
