Need Help With Bike ID!Need Help With Bike ID!Hi all,
I'm new to the forum as you can tell, and I'm hoping you guys can help me pin down the details on this bike. Long story short, the guy in the photo is my dad, who has long-since passed on and is no longer around to help me get to the bottom of this. The photo was supposedly taken in June of 1967. After an extended break I've recently gotten back into bikes and would like to start a project restoring one like this. Obviously the first step is figuring out what it is :) I've spent a lot of time online trying to match up this bike with images of ones from the internet, and can't seem to match everything up, especially the proportions/configuration of the rear fender and seat/taillight bracket. A mechanic at a local bike shop suggested it was a 1964 or 1965 CL77 305 Scrambler. However, I was also finding some photos online of 1963 CL72s that were looking pretty similar. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time- Roger It's either a CL72 (250cc) or a CL77(305cc). Pretty much the same bike except for a few details. They changed a little over the years and got bigger brakes and different fenders.
The 77 is more popular in the States because of the bigger motor. 72s are rarer and were phased out earlier. G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

CL72The CL72/77 left side exhaust pipes were/are different at the front bend.
I'd say this is the CL72 pipe so tis possible it was a CL72. .........lm
Best I can tell the oil filter cover and clutch cover are early issue.
I can't even see the rear of the chain guard and if you can do you also see a band at the front of the intake tube?. .lm
