Header Pipe Dimensions

Post by P.Martinez » Fri Nov 02, 2012 7:56 am

Restoring my '67 CL77 and previous owner hacked off the ends of both pipes to install aftermarket mufflers. Plan is to weld-on new extensions and have them rechromed. However, I don't know the original length of the pipes. What I would need to know is the (stock), dimension from the pipe to frame mounting bolt to the tips of the upper & lower pipes. Thanks in advance.

People love to chop these pipes, I've got an ace welder friend who has done a couple of sets for me.

Here you go. Top pipe is NOS early (000) lower pipe is NOS but late style.

67 CL77 had the muffler welded to the top pipe, lower pipe slid into the muffler.
