CB77 Engine Maintenance ProblemCB77 Engine Maintenance ProblemI disassembled my 305 engine in hopes of replacing the gaskets and piston rings but when I got to removing the cam chain to get to the valves, the engine was completely frozen and stuck; therefore, I could not reach the master link in the cam chain. I've tried re-attaching the kickstart but it still won't budge. The transmission seems fine and when I pull in the clutch lever, the engine kickstart turns as normal. I am completely at a loss for the cause of this problem. I had a working engine before, and now after trying to do a little routine maintenance...it is stuck. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please let me know.
When you split the case to get at the tranny only Honda Bond is used not a gasket. Are you talking about the left engine side cover(clutch cover)?I have reused the old gaskets when working on these if you are careful taking it off.I just used some Honda Bond on it.Also, I made one from gasket material.Keep us posted.
Ya say it was a working motor so I assume it did turn over before ya removed the top cover. Right?
Did ya remove the oil pump to look for the master link? Have ya removed the left side clutch cover? ..........lm
