White 305sWhite 305sHere's a question for the observant members. Was any white Dream, Hawk or CB160 ever fitted with plastic shock covers at the factory?
I am tempted to say that all of the original white bikes had painted metal shock covers. A trawl around images on Google tends to confirm my thoughts. What do you think? G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

Thanks. Never seen a white '61 let alone one with white painted alloy shock covers. Will keep looking. I wonder what the problem was with white plastic covers. The legshields on C100s were white, after all. G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

'61 CB72 '64 CB77 '65 CB160 '66 Matchless 350 '67 CL77 '67 S90 '77 CB400F I just looked at a white CB160 this summer, but never paid any attention to the shock covers. Now I'll be looking at any white Honda.
If you look at the white leg shields, they were really cream color and not shiny. They were dull, satin cream. And they yellowed with age. Could be Honda knew that the covers would not match the rest of the paint and with time would yellow. Same goes for side covers. I've seen satin cream ones on red bikes but not shiny white ones. regards. Rob
