Fuji Denki Speedo Decal for CA78Fuji Denki Speedo Decal for CA78Anyone reproduced or know of a source for the decal for Fuji Denki Dream Speedo? I bought the Nippon Seiki decal from Reproduction Decals, but it does not line up with the Fuji Face.
Ready to put my speedo back together, but my face is pretty beat up. Fuji face paint and decalDoes anyone know what paint would be a good match for the face plate of a CA77 Speedo? It looks like it is a reflective or luminescent or whatever the correct terms is for paint that will reflect more light than plain paint, but not be glow-in-the-dark.
I am looking into have some decals made for a Fuji speedo. Anyone else interested? Fuji SpeedoDoes anyone have a good original Fuji Dream speedometer? I have a couple but they are showing their age and not in great shape. The original background paint on the faceplate seems to have been slightly reflective paint and probably silk-screened black graphics over that.
Do I have the description of the background paint right? Any help would be appreciated. G, Per my prior post, I am trying to determine if there really is little reflectivity in the paint on the face plate. Photos that would show that would be great, though you would have to be a much better photographer than me to capture it. (not that be better than me would take much).
I bought several "parts" speedometers on ebay. The idea was to take them apart and learn how a speedo works and how to repair them. They all turned out to be Fuji's and now I think I see why. Decal exists for Nippon, but not for Fuji. My black graphics are (I hope) good enough to make the right kind of file (Member Jaberwoke is helping) to make a decal or transfer and it looks like that is where I am heading. So, of my parts speedos, the best faceplate I have is pretty beat up, but here is what I think I see. Faceplate painted in an off-white (toward silver) with a little reflectivity. It looks like a silk-screened black graphic over that and then some kind of clear coat as the final. Is that how yours looks? I did talk with Joel Levine about it and he said he has never had anyone ask about the reflectivity. He has only repaired a few, though (and they might have been Nippons). Foreign Speedo sends their out and someone else does the faceplate. He wasn't sure how they did it. I bought some mica powder (alot more than I need) that I think will add the reflectivity. If I come up with a transfer and make a few, I will probably offer the combo to others who want to rebuild a Fuji. So, I want things to be as close as I can get them. A long explanation to describe the task. A picture is worth a thousand words, but in this case a verbal description might be needed to confirm the subtle reflectivity. Thanks, G Bill
Herewith Some pics. Unfortunately my Fuji Denki Speedo is not the NOS one. I do not see that the face has any reflectivity but it is more 'silver' than white compared with the Nippon Seiki 'white' one. The other NS is much more yellow, as you can see. I took two pics of the FD one so that you could see all of the printing. Good luck G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72
