Hondeau Tires...Hondeau Tires...Has anyone bought those Hondeau tires on eBay? I believe they're made in germany. They have a great vintage tread pattern, but I seem to be having a problem with them. The wheels are true, but the tires wobble left to right and a bit up and down. Both the front and rear do this. It's been a few months since I ordered them, so returning them is most likely out of the question. Just wondering if anyone else is having issues with them as well...
Hey 56_Oval,
The tires came from me. The above answers are pretty much the same as to how I responded to you earlier today. An easy way to check is the raised line on the tire that follows the edge of the rim. If it is not equal all the way around then the bead isn't seated all the way. These tires do have a slightly heavier sidewall then some tires so I guess they could take a bit more work to have them seat. I have never had much problem getting them to seat but I usually use plenty of tire lube and they pop right on. If it was a problem with the tire it would be quite odd for both of them out of round if that's the case. I have sold many of these tires for all sorts of bikes and haven't ran into any problems with them yet. All that said if there is a defect with the tires send them on back for a refund or replacement. Not a problem. Thanks, Kevin
