CB77/72 Handlebars - ever weighted ?

Post by Phil-UK » Mon Aug 20, 2012 6:59 am

Hi

Anyone know if Honda ever made the original bars with weights built into the ends ?

I'm using a set of stainless low bars on my CB72 and at the moment riding with stitches in my right thumb and find it pretty uncomfortable from high frequency vibration over 6000rpm, its always tingled a bit.

Among the used stuff sat around is a set of similar bars ( with the wiring hole at the centre ) that have substantial amounts of metal ( lead ? ) in the ends so I'm wondering if doing something similar, or fitting modern bar end weights would help.

thanks

Phil

Phil

I'm not sure if Honda ever weighted them. Adding weight would lower the frequency at which they vibrate so it may take a little experimentation to make it comfortable for you.
