Hole in my Headlight

Post by Solomoriah » Fri Jul 06, 2012 11:32 pm

Hey, I noticed tonight that there is a small hole, about half an inch or a bit less, just above the ignition key on my 66 Dream. It appears to be an original feature, but I can't find it in any pictures or schematics. I've attached a picture where you can see it. Does anyone know what's supposed to be in there?

Not supposed to be there.

If there's one on each side, maybe there were turn signals installed at one time......or maybe an extra switch for some reason.

There's just the one on the left. It has the smoothness of a punched, rather than drilled, hole; it really does look original.

I'll just have to see what I find when I open it up.

Ack. So I cleaned it up and I can see that it is a drilled rather than punched hole. Still no idea why they did it.

Maybe they put a kill switch of some sort in there.
