CL77 Neutral switch and light

Post by ggray » Tue May 08, 2012 7:46 pm

Had my neutral indicator light quit recently. Pulled the bulb and it appeared to be blown. Am attempting to replace the 3.4watt bulb with an LED. Cannot get any power to the socket that held the old bulb. All wiring appears to be intact.
Any suggestions on how to check the working condition of the switch itself?

Thanks,

Gary

You can check the neutral switch by confirming continuity through it to ground when the bike is in neutral. Green wire (I think) that is in the bundle coming from behind the right crankcase cover.

However, if you have no power to the bulb socket in any ignition switch position, your problem lies there and not in the ground circuit.

Neutral switch

Thank you both. After looking at my schematic, I had determined that more than likely the switch was on the ground side of the circuit. Now confirmed.

Thanks again.
