Right crank case cover screwsI contacted a few places, but I think I'll end up having to order one. I don't know if we have a Fastenall in the area, but I'll look into it. I was thinking of making a template of the gasket, but where would I get the material to make it? Its so thin - I always thought of gaskets as being made from rubber. This looks almost like thick paper! Another question...Should I use gasket adhesive?
Yeah, like thick paper sounds about right. I used the blue hylomar stuff (the exact name escapes my memory) and adhered the gasket to the side case itself. Then put a light film of fresh engine oil on the case side of the gasket. This way, when you take the side cover off, the gasket is bonded to it and is reusable for however long it lasts. The tighter you torque the side cover screws, the shorter the life of the gasket. They don't need to be SUPER tight.
You'll just have to look around for the gasket material. It may be available locally to you or you may have to order it.
