Hep with engine rebuildS; yes that method will work very well. the tools shown in that video will set you back about $800. how many heads do you want to rebuild to break even on the tool cost? If you can't get the valves to seal by simply lapping them, then you need the seats cut. valve guide wear is a whole nother matter involving several machining steps and then recutting the seats. try lapping, if they seal, just run it. otherwise it needs to go to a machinist.
Randy Honda can supply their dealers with an expensive valve seat grinding kit. –yes I have used one, but you need to know what you are doing. There are vale seat cutter kits available, mainly for the tin box, car boys & gals, but they are unlikely to have the right size spigot for the bike valve guide, you would have to get one made up. Depends if you can justify spending all that money on tools you will rarely use, or find a local bike dealer or engine restorer/reconditioner who has the right tools. Good news, bad news. I finally rode the bike today, we'll get to that in a second.
Good news: tested compression again after riding it. Right: 120 Left: 130 Believe the manual says 120? Bad news: The bike runs awful. Gotta be the carbs. I cleaned them really good and think they're tuned right (needle jet 2nd clip, air screw 1 1/4, etc) but just can't get it running properly. Going to take them apart and go through everything again.
