Crank bearing

The numbers on all the 8 left side crank bearings I checked are: 630656 HS.
The HONDA part numbers are 91001-259-010 or 91001-259-020.
I'd call Terry and tell him what he sent and have him look at a bearing in a NOS box and send the correct one to you. .........lm


The numbers on all 8 of the bearings on the left side of the cranks I checked are: 630656

The old bearing definitely measures 77mm OD, both with a Vernier and C frame michs. The numbers on the face of the outer rece are B30-38, F (corrosion pits present might be P), and NSK. New bearing from Western Hills Honda in orginal Honda box. Box has part # 91001-259-010 with C722901A below. New bearing marks are B30-35A, G, and NSK and it measures 75mm OD, Both bearings have split line marks on outer race face also. My engine was apart once in its life as it had S3 pistons in it, but the case # and frame # are within the accepted range of each other. The right side bearing was the needle type with the case having the stepped knock pin. Help as always greatly appreciated.

Regardless of what's in the box, if the journal accepts a larger bearing it'll have to be sleeved unless you can find the larger bearing.
I've never heard of one of these being machined out in this respect. In order for one of these bearings to get that far gone you'd expect the rest of the bottom end to be trashed.

Thanks for all the input guys. Like Popeye says 'it is what it is". I talked to Terry at WHH and he pulled another bearing from a C72 to compare. It was 66mm which confused him also. If I were a pure machocist I would weld up and rebore. I think I will play the Sadist role and sleeve the 75mm to 77mm OD and let the next person 40 years from now query our great grandchildren on what could the old geezers have been thiking! Thanks again to everyone. Now if some retired factory guy in Japan reads this and recogonizes his handywork, PLEASE FESS UP.

Did you try Ohio Cycle?They have the same bearing listed but theirs has a Very Early after the number.Try calling them.May be worth it.

OK! Called Ohio Cycle and talked to the guy there. He says the 77mm od bearing is part #91001-259-020. The -010 is the 75mm OD. I asked him to check and he replyed that he had 77mm written down in the book, so he must have come across it before. He says the serial number range in "the book" shows this. My Bill Silvers engine repair guide doesn't give SN's on this particular part. Problem solved? Stay tuned..........
