Gas in crankcase
Gas in crankcase305'rs,
Noticed my rebuilt S'Hawk's oil level was a little bit high so I drained some off and there is gas in there? Bike only has a few miles since rebuild because it's bogging bad, fouls plugs and some times when it runs only left side is hot. Is blowing some oil out the pipes but thought it is because it's still breaking in. The floats (which are good) are set to proper level and they are not overflowing. How is the gas getting in there? Thanks all, roadcapDen

Thanks!
UPDATE! Drained the oil last night to the tune of about 2 litres! = lots of gas = made it run rich? Petcock is NOT leaking = must be worn valve? or I've left it on. Floats at 22mm. Just to be sure, the slides should have the bevel to "aft" ie air filter side?................... Needle (stock) should be all the way up ie clip at the bottom?................. 10w40 MC oil is OK?............... > > #42 and #135 jets and needle is #2423 clip in middle. > > Air mix 1 1/8 out. roadcapDen

2 HD XL's 65 Dream 305 and a bunch of other scoots the slides should have the bevel to "aft" ie air filter side?................... YES
Needle (stock) should be all the way up ie clip at the bottom?................. SECOND NOTCH FROM BOTTOM 10w40 MC oil is OK?............... YES. I USE NON-SYNTHETIC FOR BREAK IN. Adjust your floats like this link, and make sure they dont have fuel in them, remove and shake and listen. Davo http://www.honda305.com/upload/h305_for ... rb_214.jpg davomoto
