305 PDF wiring diagram

Post by steven0356 » Fri Dec 29, 2006 5:34 pm

I just got my (new to me bike) home and am about to dive into some wiring issues.

The guy I bought it from put a new tail light on it, but did not wire it up. Also the head light does not work, I am not sure if the bulb is bad or if there are other issues.

So I was wondering if there is a down loadable PDF wiring diagram some where, if not. where can I find a manual with this information.

Thanks

Steve

I found a CD on e-bay with parts book and sevice manual for $9.99. Let me know if you can't find one I might be able to copy pages.

wiring

You should be able to look at the elements in the headlight to see if they are burnt or just use an ohm meter to check for continuity on the bulb wires to see if it is good or better yet take headlight out and hook jumpers to it and touch high(blue) and low(RED) beam wires and ground(GREEN) directly to a 12v battery.Tail light has only two wires on it-one for brake(your brake light switch must be working and adjusted properly also to get current to brake light and key in proper position )and one for parking light.Make sure it is grounded properly and has a good bulb also.If the tailight assy is new you may have to scrape away some paint on it where it touches the fender around a bolt hole to get ground.Hope this helps.
