Cleaning My Motor

Post by bonsaibill » Thu Aug 11, 2011 3:30 pm

I have seen online that some people degrease and then take the motor to the car wash and spray it. How do you keep the water out of the right side of the engine where the chain goes?

I'm super new to my CB77 but i jsut degreased my engine and sprayed it off afterwards adn got water in the points and it ran like shite. i thought my trans was ruined. Just wanted to reccomend you not spray it down wirh a pressure washer. If you must i'd seal everything up first. Just my 2 cents! good luck.

if you do it on bike with carbs on, it's a good idea to pop float bowls off and dump them in case you got water in there...I know from experience it's possible...

as to original question, water that gets into/behind right side cover will just run back out...just take it easy...
