Rotor Removal Question
Rotor Removal QuestionI may have screwed up here. I have removed the stator, but the rotor is a mystery. I have not yet removed the 14mm crankshaft bolt - is this the problem? Of course, now it turns easily with everything removed from the left side of the engine. What is the best way to immobilize the crank so I can remove that bolt?
Thanks. I usually just put the wrench on the bolt and give the wrench a quick tap with a hammer and the bolt should pop loose. Then I use a rear axle shaft since it the same thread as the rotor and put a punch in the axle shaft hole and hit the punch with a hammer in the tightening direction and that usually will pop the rotor loose of the crank, but not always.Hope this helps.
