Finally some picts of my Superhawk
I dont usually buy new vehicles either, but after I decided to get back into riding after a 25 year hiatus, my biggest concern was breaking down and getting stuck on a backroad, leaving myself at the mercy of whoever came along. It was a safety thing. I was looking for a solid used bike in the $3000 price range, and then found the Kawi for just slightly more and new. I couldnt pass it up. But I would much rather take something vintage and classic and restore it to my own tastes and standards. Its more effort, but the satisfaction of seeing it completed is uncomparable. I recently inherited my father's '65 El Camino (I learned to drive on that one) and my dream car, '60 Metropolitan Ragtop. I also recently bought my brother's old hot rod, '26 T roadster. By my reckoning I'm now set for projects for the rest of my life, LOL. I'm doing the same thing with my '49 bungelow (house), remodeling the kitchen with a '50's diner theme. I guess I'm going through my mid-life crisis, LOL. My grandkids love it when "Grammie" drives up on her bike. I'd still like to get a Buell, I have a CX650 on my list, and would die to find an old BSA Goldstar thumper, just like my daddy had.

Sarah, You sound like quite a gal. Totally understand your feeling with having a bike like the Kawa. Also, sounds like you have some choice 4 wheel vehicles as well. I've surrounded myself with some of those 4 wheelers myself. A '69 Plymouth GTX (there's a story behind that one and I'll tell it if you want to hear), an'85 Dodge Shelby (turbo) Charger (another story there), a '92 Dodge Dakota (want to build something here), another '92 Dodge Dakota, but a Club Cab LE (actually bought this one cause it wasn't badly priced and was going to used parts on the 1st one, but have decided to basically fix it up for a backup to my daily driver) and my Daily Driver is an '07 Dodge Charger R/T (been doing some mods on THAT as well). Like You, I'm a sucker for an old BSA Gold Star too, but they command a pretty high price. My family had an Indian Motorcycle shop that was started back in 1932 and it went down in 1968 when my Granddad passed away (He started it). Bet You have some interesting stories.
