CL-77 Brake cable issues. Heed help

I bought "reproduction" brake cables at the Mid Ohio swap meet from a vendor, They don't fit and don't look like the originals. Either the hubs and cables I have(originals) are incorrect or the repro cables are not.
The end fittings don't look the same and the diameters are different(too big)

This is the large brake 66 CL77.

I bought some from Tims honda restoration and they were right on the money and were fairly reasonable. I'd check with him. nutt

About a couple of years ago I had the exact same problem with the end being too large to fit in the rear brake plate.. I contacted the vendor I purchased it from and he took it back without a problem and covered shipping. I sent them similar pictures to yours with the calipers. He said I was first person to have the problem.

I take it that on a CL the threaded end goes through the brake plate. When I gave my 2 cents, I should have clarified that the issue I had was with a CB77 reproduction cable. Am I correct in thinking that the threaded end on a CB rear cable goes to the brake pedal? That’s the way the old one was on the bike and also how the manual I have shows it but of course they can be wrong. I never did get a replacement and at some point the old cable has to be replaced and I don’t want to make another mistake (if that’s what I did).

On the CB the adjuster is at the foot peg for sure. ............lm
