1. If your 15-Amp fuse is duff then you'll get JS on your electrical system
2. There's only one fuse, as described by <bbap>
3. The rationale surrounding the dimmer switch is akin to a lever attached to the back of the beam unit (thanks LM); follow the wiring diagram.

The headlight grounds through the housing. If you take the headlight from the housing while it's still connected to the wiring harness it won't light.

You will have to remove the headlight completely from the harness and check it with jumper wires from a battery or a battery charger.

You can leave your headlight hooked up and run a jumper from the green wire to the headlight bucket. Probably easiest to screw the headlight mounting screw back in and connect there. If you do it that way you can actually see what happens as you move your switch, etc. You do need to make sure your ground jumper is connected well on both end.

I am still wondering about the "exploded" tail light. Was the glass actually broken or what? Any sign of smoething similar in the headlight?

thanks conbs.....I dont think the tail light issue is related to the front. the tail light (outer plastic housing) is fine, the bulb inside was *just a bunch of dust and shards* when I took off the housing. So you can see why I think it *exploded* as there was no damage to the housing.

I will check things out tonight and hopefully get some answers (and no doubt a few more questions!!)
