I have a 66 305 Dream CA-77 that is making a rattling type noise at higher RPMs. I have read a lot of posts in here and this seems to come up once and a while.
In looking at Bill Silver's Engine repair guide he makes reference to the writs pin ends of the connecting rods deforming and enlarging. I beleive this is what I am experiencing.
On Page 97 of the repair guide he once again mentions the top end noises and goes on to say the solution may be to replace the wrist pins with Honda's oversized wrist pins (15.1mm or .004" oversize).
Does anyone have an idea where I can get these oversized wrist pins and/or a Part No. for them?
Thanks in advance..............

CA77 Oversize Wrist Pins
Your probably right, but it could also be the cam chain sprocket rivets loose letting the cam sprocket rattle. While you have your engine apart, I would suggest spot welding the sprocket and going with the oversize wrist pins. You may try western hills honda ask for terry williamson, he keeps alot of vintage honda parts in stock. If he don't have them sometimes you can find them on ebay. nutt

Thanks for the note. I called Terry at WHH this morning and they are on the way. I haven't torn this motor down yet -- when I do, I'll post a reply this this string and report back on the success of these steps. Thanks again, Bob Sain Knoxville, TN
