Kruzing the Dream

Post by wnbasac » Thu May 05, 2011 5:12 pm

i was out and about today on the dream enjoying the 80+ weather and stopped at the local market. A couple of gents saw the bike and came over to chat. The senior of the bunch i guess a tad bit older than me ( 62 ) told me that he had a dream back in the day. He also said that he's owned a benly 150 and still owns a C70.

He said that he bought his dream ( 400.00 ) out of Montgomery Wards and that they had a color chart to pick from so he picked a blue one that had a red seat. He went on to tell me that they also sold them at Western Auto and a few other stores.

Boy oh boy I just Luv me some Dream Time, and you do meet the nicest people on a Honda

Benly and Dream

Post by Dennis42 » Wed May 25, 2011 12:00 pm

I bought a '64 Benly 150 (white) new for $495. Wanted the Dream, but it was $695 and this college kid only had $500. Rode it for 5 years. In '69, local dealer told me he had 3 '67 Dreams still crated. Would take $495 for one, and he'd assemble it. I've been riding it (white) ever since. Bought a used Dream (red) along the way for my wife, but it was over-used when I got it. Had I been a bright college kid in '69, I'd have probably bought 1 assembled Dream and 2 crated Dreams when I had the chance. Hindsight! A BMW R75/5 has come and gone, but I still have and ride the Dream.
