in silver's manual that i have and in all documentation i have i can only find specs for the c77 0r c72. or 54mm pistons. i am trying to prep info for the machinist. i need specs for CA77 in particular. here is an example of the info i need: see attachment 65 CA77
66 CB77 71 CB450 73 CB350F yes. maybe i am not asking the right questions.
for example: spec for my piston dia. is 60mm. this chart has it listed as max value at 54mm. i believe this is for a 250. i am looking for this info for a 65 ca77, or for the appropriate info to take to a machine shop so that they can diagnose the condition of my cylinders, sot that i can decide if i need to just have them honed, or if i need to bore them out to the next size. i have never done this kind of thing before. my friend who recommended the shop said i should bring engine specs including over size incriminates (which is one thing i do know). 65 CA77
66 CB77 71 CB450 73 CB350F So it looks like I am in the sh$$. I need my cylinders bored out and new pistons. I need to move up to .25 over. Tim McDowell sells a kit for $300. Is there a cheaper option? It seems like Ohio cycle sells pistons (266-020) for around 40 a piece though. It looks like I could save bout 100 if I piece a kit together. Is this a bad idea? Also, do I need to do anything to the head (valve area) if I get this job done?
Lastly, though i am sure I have seen info before, I can not find it now- what is the difference between ca and cb pistons? 65 CA77
