oil from clutch rod ?

Post by G-GAURD » Mon Mar 28, 2011 5:07 am

i got my cl77 up and running and took it for a spin down the street and had some problems shifting so when i returned and parked i noticed some oil dripping.

i pulled the side cover off and thre was oil pooling up inside so i wiped it all up sprated it dowm and dried the area and seals to look for the leak of a bad seal but nothing new and the back of the drive gear was dry of oil.

could the clutch adjustment on the side cover be over adjusted and pushing the rod in to far ?

i also notice there's an o-ring inside the drive shaft on the left side behind the clutch but it doesnt seem to have a tight seal on the push rod.

is that o-ring the only seal preventing oil from getting into the center of the drive shaft ?

The "O" ring is to seal the Clutch Lifter, (pushes the Pressure Plate away from the Friction Disc at the L/S end of the rod) and must be rather tight as oil will come out the Rod Side. ..lm
