Finished rezincing my spokes and got the rims relaced and trued........I think. I have about 1/16" variance in a few spots on both rims that I can't seem to work out. Spots vary, some up and down, some side to side. Would this be acceptable? Plan to use some dynabeads for balancing tires.
Thanks
Rim trueingYeah, Teazer is right about the welded seam on the rim. They do a crummy job of grinding the welds so you always get a jump. New rims are even worse.
But a 1/32 is a better spec to hold than 1/16 inch. If you can get your hands on a dial indicator, it is a much better way to true a rim than to use a pointer. If a rim is bent a bit from hitting a pothole, it migh require a whack with a dead blow hammer. But that is something best left to experts unless you are pretty good with stuff like this. regards, Rob
