good set of matching tires for 66 cl77? dunlop k70's?

Post by junk726 » Tue Mar 15, 2011 6:39 pm

So im sure this is somewhere..i have googled and searched here (maybe im not doin right..im sorry!;) i am wondering if that Dunlop K70 3.50-19 (designated as a Front?) If anybody has run it as a rear? I find a 3.25-19 for front and want a matching brand rear..and they offer a 3.50-19...seems to me a good set..but? And im not a huge fan of cheng shin..so anybody know or experience a good set? Im SURE there are some opinions or help on this;) thanks in advance guys! Ive found the dunlop k70s shipped to my door for like $175..not too bad..

Junk, I run a set of K70's on my CL77 3.25x19 front and 3.50x19 rear and think they are great. I don't push my scrambler thru the turns like my newer bikes but while traveling at "Classic Speed" they track well and are a better choice than anything Chin Seng has to offer.

Thanks Fred!:) appreciate the info! I was hopin someone else ran this combo! I dont wanna get cheapo tires..and Dunlops always treated me well:) so im guessing the" front" designation on the 3.50-19 really wont make a difference..seein as i wont be pushing her anyways!;) thanx guys!

Junk, I've got a Dunlop K70 3.25-19 front and a Dunlop K81 4.10H-19 rear on my CL, they work great and there is no clearence issues. $137.98 delivered from Motorcycle Superstore. They have been on for 2 years so the price might be a little higher now....................D

I had the same concerns and learned (again because I should have remembered this from days past) that the K70 is not a directional tire so it can be mounted on the front or rear. The vendors for some reason list them as front or rear applications and that could be because that is the trend today and their inventory software or website search categories force them to stick it in a front or rear bucket.

I have them on my CL77 as well, but with winter here, have yet to run them. But I ran K70s when they were the hot tire to have and always liked them.

regards,
Rob

dunlop tires

Junk,
I'll agree with Fred on this one. The tires look and feel good (3.25 front/3.50 rear). The only thing that got me by surprise, was the K70 3.50 measured out widthwise about 1'' narrower than the Bridgestone 110/90 that was on it (I THINK it was a 110/90) so the widths were roughly 3 1/2" and 4 1/2" respectively. Not a big deal, but I would have liked the rear tire a bit fatter. Maybe thats what D has going on with that K81 4.10H...

Hey thanks guys! Im for sure gonna go with the Dunlops! I am curious now on that 4.10 K81..looks nice and i wouldnt mind having a lil fatter tire;) no clearance issues, im wondering how she looks set up like that?;)..interesting..thanx D! I found its not too much more in price, so either way 3.25-19 k70 on front and i will decide which way to go on rear soon:) cant thank u all enough! This forums helped me a great deal!:)
