Avoid These CL77 Shocks on Ebay!

Post by husabob » Wed Feb 16, 2011 8:48 pm

Item #310295180342 I bought a set last year, and one shock failed after several rides. The clevis(lower mount) broke off the shock body at the weld, which was a poor spot weld. Steve, the owner of Classic Cycle Parts in Hilliard, OH was very quick to replace it for no charge, however the other shock also failed in the same manner, possibly last fall. I e-mailed Steve again this week, and due to the time that had elapsed since the purchase, he offered to replace it at his cost. Steve seems like an honorable Ebayer, but I would suggest avoiding these shocks, as the failures are unacceptable. I have since taken both failed shocks and had them rewelded, and I am confident they won't fail again. Just my two cents, Bob B
