Valuation question concerning chain guard and carb covers.

Post by tobysdad » Thu Feb 10, 2011 11:08 am

I have a black 1965 CA77 (19k miles) that I'm restoring. I would rate the overall condition a 7 out of 10. The problem is, I'm missing the chain guard and carb covers.

Is it worth it to find a chain guard? I saw a couple on eBay that went for about $120. Carb covers are just too expensive and I'm afraid it wouldn't be worth the extra money.

Just trying to figure out if paying the extra $120 for a chain guard would be worth it when I sell the bike.

It may or may not fetch you the amount you spend when you sell it. IMHO, it will be easier to sell, as the bike will look incomplete with missing parts.
