LED bulbs
LED bulbsI just ordered a headlight lens/reflector with a 45/45w bulb for my CB77 and will need to get an LED tail light bulb to operate within the alternator's limits. Safety and being visible to drivers is a main concern because most can't see a Mack truck or school bus during the day! Has anyone used an LED that they could recommend? It was only this weekend when I discovered that LED bulbs were available in automotive types, so I have no experience with them and defer to your greater knowledge and expertise- price is not a concern, visibility is my priority. Thanks everyone.

Here's a video of it in action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJjm2swPcyU Where'd you get the headlight from? I've tried to source a replacement with higher wattage, but can seem to find anything that fits well. The CB400f was too small. Current restoration: 1962 CB77

There was a discussion somewhere on the boards about these: http://store.candlepower.com/638inhe.html Yup, I ordered the 6 3/8" headlamp and it was too small. I couldn't figure out a way to fasten in the headlamp ring. There was just too much room for the existing clips to take up. It was a very awkward gap. If anyone has any tricks, I'm all ears.

candlepowerinc.I received my 162mm reflector/lens with a 45/45w h4 bulb on Friday and installed it yesterday- fits perfectly into my 1963 CB77 rim, no problems. Too cold and snowy to test ride!! Thanks for the "superbrightled" lead. My invoice ( I think that there was a part# for the light ) is at work- I'll send that to you in the A.M.

Hmm, sounds like it's time for me to do some measuring.
