Gasks and seals, oh my!

Post by 3030vision » Thu Oct 12, 2006 1:07 am

Feel kinda silly asking this around all the seasoned 305ers, but now that I'm looking a cracking the case of my '64 CB77, I'm noticing a number of different gasket kit configurations and corresponding prices. The genuine Honda stuff appears to be significantly more expensive. I'd usually spring for the genuine stuff, but is there a difference really (or is it just a crap shoot)?

So far I've been really happy with RetroBikes, but I've only ordered a few items from them. Where do y'all like to get this stuff? I noticed today that Ohio Cycles doesn't take credit cards.

Thanks.

Retrobikes, Ohio Cycle, Western Hills, ebay, you will need them all if you are doing a total restoration. I prefer the factory head gaskets, but for the others it's usually not critical. You can even make your own if you're handy with scissors and a hole punch. --Randall

Same here. Stock head gasket is always better.
