Ya say top.
Are ya at the hanger bolts at the engine top?
Ya said lots of rust on CS so any chance/sign of a repaint.
Like I said that is a bit much in the numbers. ............lm

Yes, the two long engine hanger bolts (about 3 1/2" long).

I'd say, no way on the repaint or they did a bang up job years ago. the frame has some surface rust overall, but not bad. It's an old bike and I admit that I'm out of my league as I've never worked on a bike older than a 1970....

I guess, I'll never be certain if the engine was replaced or the frame replaced/repainted or perhaps the frame was built but not assembled with an engine due to.....I just don't see any of the tell-tale signs of it.

Would you believe this to be a '63 Frame?

I nickel plated my kick... Go with your gut unless you are trying to restore to spec.

Major league pitting on that puppy. I went with etching primer and dull aluminum. I finally just removed the motor, but I'll post that on another page. I loved your project and write up!
