Help - Wiring Harness Diagram

Post by Sascha » Thu Dec 02, 2010 8:51 am

Hey guys so last night I tried to wire up the existing harness and failed... There are some fundimental issues that I cannot resolve with the new setup so I have to create an entirely new harness to support the changes in electricals.

I will start drafting a schematic to show you guys what I am considering doing and post it here to get your inputs.

So, I started to create a new wiring diagram for myself because the existing harness cant be used because I am not grounding on the ignition switch anymore and have removed all the stages from it by replacing it with a single start button... I could use someones help working on this... Anyone?

Two things to know:

1. Red box (a 2 two position switch to allow power through the bike and kill power)
2. Arcade button (Fires the starter)
3. Lights are on at all times when the power is on
4. I have high beams, low beams, pass, left signal and right signal (Only for the back) on my left controls.

HELP!

It looks like neutral switch needs a positive going into it? Either that or the other side of the neutral light needs to be positive. Right now when the switch closes the light will have two negatives going to it. ?

nope.. go straight from neutral switch to neutral light with the green line.. then go straight from your "on" positive to the other side of neutral light.

I think normally you'd want the ground going straight to the light and the switched part being the positive, but given where the neutral switch is located IMHO it'd be better having ground running through it.

I haven't looked much at the rest of the diagram.. so there might be other small issues..
