Glad to see one that actually works.
I tried the same thing without stretching the frame when I was about 14.
Cut the downtube and welded a plate for the motor mount with slots to tighten the direct belt drive off centrifugal clutch. (Whizzer rear pully)
Everything was going fine until I tried mounting the front wheel....no room!
Ended up with a go cart wheel on the front
It was good for only one very exciting trial run!

C: I have never been too fond of the color yellow; see a lot of screaming yellow mustangs that just ruins the lines of the car. But your custom is really sharp looking and reminds me of some of the high-end custom motorcycles the factories put out; especially the motor and wheels---makes it all of one piece.

Send some more pics; higher resolution if possible:-)

p.s. How long ago did you get the seat from Honda and how much did it cost.

Funny! The seat on the yellow bike is what I just sent over to Brewsky in the mail...

I chose instead to make a custom seat pan and weld on a Biltwell swing bracket to the frame... Here take a look at the picture:

In response to clarenceada the seat was purchased from Ohio cycle in 2006. The price tag on the bag read $37.95. I purchased two crates full of Honda 305 parts and it just happened to be in there. I am almost complete with the restoration of the yellow bike (still need to paint the chain guards, stator cover, and side covers) but when I am done I will be sure to post better pictures and maybe even a video. In response to sascha the seat looks great, and just out of curiosity, what does the bike have written on the front fork?

Ya, C, your seat looks much thicker then mine; I have a feeling mine would be too hard, there's not much padding; how is yours after a half hour?---that was about the limit of the flat red seat on my blue dream. The seat looks like one of the newer CT110's except for the color pattern; does it have two welded-in nuts at the front? The CT's had a hinge mounted there. Don't suppose it has a part no. on it?

How did you come to buy two crates of parts from ohio cycle, were they selling off surplus items or did they just throw the seat in with an order you had; just curious, in case they had more crates laying around.

I purchased two crates and one complete ca77 from a local guy after he lost interest in the project. The crates were not from Ohio cycle, they were from the local guy, he just had many new parts from Ohio cycle in them. The seat is very comfortable even after a long ride, I will look for a serial number on the seat. On the front of the seat there is a bracket that attaches to the bolt at the rear of the gas tank, no visible welded in nuts on the seat.
