Woe is my crankWoe is my crankFinally got the pistons out of the cylinders after Marvel Mystery, Liquid Wrench, phosphoric acid, and heat convincing. Oversize .75 CB77 pistons in my CA77 (shame on them). I'm a purest, God created it a CA!
All said and done I proceeded to pull the bearings off the crank. The dynamo side bearing had sat in water and corroded the shaft. Heavy piting 180 deg. apart. Question..... What can I do about the shaft? Chrome or weld up and grind or another bearing with inner race? What do you experts do? Is there someone who exchanges these for a rebuilt crank? Looks like I'm going to have to work on the frame first. Thanks
Honda has a Ball Bearing replacement for this problem.

My head hurts just trying to figure out how ya'll know all this. Thanks for the info, possibly saved me money. Must ask further about this replacement before I snatch one from Ohio. Direct replacement with possibly bigger dia. pin. Oil holes match up? Anything else pertenant?

Replacement bearingReceived my bearing from Ohio and have a couple of questions before mounting. The bearing dim's are the same (width a couple of mm narrower) but it has no oil hole. I assume since it is a direct replacement that the balls will be splash lubed? Maybe the lube port from the case is extended outboard to put flow between seal and bearing and flow through to inboard? Should I remove the one shield that is on the outboard side? Thanks for the help.
