WANTED : Apex solo seat for 64 dream !!Hello folks , anyone out there in dream land... i'm looking to put a apex solo seat on my 64 dream if anyone has one for sale... or if anybody has any photos of other solo seats on a dream i'd love to see them... i know apex has a very bad rap from what i have read on this forum, but i like the look of their solo seat but if anyone has seen a equally good looking solo seat that will fit a dream PLEASE PLEASE ,, post it or email it to me.... thanks... nick
I have a nice solo seat that says Honda on the back and has a lot of cushioning with rubber bushings and springs. It came as an extra with one of my dreams that I bought. It was still new in a bag from Honda and was sold at a Honda dealer in Ohio. It was some what generic to many different Honda bikes and i had to drill two new holes close to the old ones on the frame to mount it but it really looks good now. I will try to post some pictures of it this weekend.
Here is a couple of pictures of the new parts bike seat I got last week.
http://www.honda305.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6492 Don't know the manufacture, I see no brand on it. I just checked with Apex and it looks like they are all out of them right now: http://www.apexcycle.com/parts-4.htm C: Is there a stock Honda Dream solo seat or is the generic one you have the only one Honda made for them? Can you take some pictures of the mounts; I'd like to compare with the one I have to see how far back form the tank it's mounted. Thanks Clarence Mine is an original Honda universal solo seat, but is not original to the dream. I can tell from your pictures that mine mounts way closer to the tank then yours. Mine is also more triangular then yours and mine says Honda on the back. I tried to upload pics but the camera wouldn't upload to my computer. I will try again on my other computer.
The blue one in the back ground was originally built for a briggs and stratton model y washing machine engine, but when it didn't have enough power I put that newer briggs one on there. The way it is currently geared I think it could easily go 40 mph. But with no brakes and a frame that when elongated wasn't quite straight I would never go that fast. Fun none the less.
