missing carburetor parts-stupid memissing carburetor parts-stupid meSo I started breaking down the motor on this pretty nice cb77 I just got. The pistons are seized, and now I find that one carb has a missing it's throttle valve and spring assembly. From what I can find it's going to be pretty hard to replace. Or no?
Do I look for a new carb? or can I find this part someplace? I've checked the places i know and nothing. Anyone? Also, since the pistons are seized I've poured mystery oil in the sparke plug holes to try and free them first. any other ideas? It's going to be very cool to ride this bike. Thanks David me too, The last owner said he got it from someone who let his kids ride it around the yard and when the trottle cable broke that was it and there it sat for two years. It looks better in the pictures actually. Almost everything is there though. I think the kids ran it without air filters for a while because there aren't any and the carbs are dirty as hell.
I'm not doing a complete and roper rebuild though, I want to ride it. I'll try and get it running proper and make it look nice in stages. Damn throttle valve though nice one, let me try that. I'll have to counter thread the screws though as those are locked and halfway stripped.
I've been pushing it gently in gear now with the MMO for a week trying to free the pistons. It should have gone according to others with time seized pistons. If it isn't the pistons that would be great
